Ahead Easier...

When I was a kid, like five or six; we’d always head “downtown” to Main Street to shop. It was always an experience. It was a different time. A time before malls, or on-line shopping. Layaway, catalogs, and phone orders was how business was done. Some might say it was a simpler time. Who am I to judge, it’s the difference between Jimmie’s or sprinkles.  I prefer to say different and leave it there.

 

 

 

 

 

Even back then, I couldn’t imagine anything better than owning a business. It seemed like the pinnacle of success. Being your own boss. Working hard and seeing that work rewarded. There was a level of respect, from both consumers and owners. Shopping was different because you felt you were helping a neighbor. You were supporting the community.

 

Every self-employed, small or home business owner knows that feeling.  It’s a shared experience with each other. It’s a feeling one we share with consumers. All of us are looking for the same thing.

Look, I get it. I got to the game rather late myself. It’s something I struggled with, eventually realizing that it’s a better late than never situation. We’re at a point where you don’t have a choice; you have to be making content.

 

I’m not suggesting you need to do a daily reaction show on YouTube, but you need to be marking shorts! Shorts, Reels, TikToks…it’s the same thing. A one minute video that sells you something.  They’re the modern day equivalent of local tv commercials from the days of UHF.

 

The question your asking yourself is: how do I do it? Wonder no more! The best part is; you don’t expensive equipment, or fancy studios; all you need is your phone

We all have a type of consumer that, well…if we’re being completely honest, we love more than the others. They’re perfect for our business. They are a dream come true and working with them never feels like work. Mine was Betty. She was my ideal consumer. I wouldn’t mind having one hundred just like her.

 

In this course we find your Betty. Yours might be a Beth, Pat or Mike. However, what they all have in common is they possess the traits, habits and behaviors you are looking for in new consumers. We all have those consumers who, for whatever reason, are keeping it casual. They could be a more regular consumer, they could be a Super Fan. For some reason they’re not. They are the largest part of our consumer base and the easiest to convert to a Super Fan. They possess the traits, habits and behaviors we’re seeking. They just haven’t found a reason to commit.

 

In this course, we look at who our core consumer is. What attracts them, what engages them. We discuss what might be stopping them from becoming a Super Fan and how we can counter those hesitations.
